The Rusted Gate is brought to you by Roxanne Lindeman and Ernie Hough. After meeting at an antique mall show, we decided to partner together, using our diverse talents to create a business in the Denver area.
Ernie is a native Kansan with extensive contacts in the “junque” business. He handles the road work necessary to acquire interesting products at great prices. You name it, he can find it!
Roxanne claims she is a permanent Colorado transplant! Bringing her knowledge of the city, her retailing and merchandising experience and penchant for shopping, Roxanne handles the day to day operations of the business.
Our main location is in downtown Castle Rock. Located at The Barn, a group of 20 or so merchants peddle their wares in the original 1905 barn of the Douglas County Mercantile. Oozing with charm and character, The Barn sets the stage for antique and specialty shops. It’s perfect for our primitive and rustic antiques, including furniture and décor for inside and out.
The special treat to shopping at The Barn is the greenhouse, added on about 8 or so years ago. The aroma of fresh herbs greets you upon entering. Surrounded by luscious hanging baskets topping the entry gazebo, you enter another world. You will find tenderly cared for topiaries, tiny cacti and succulents basking in the sun, and spring baskets filled with bright annuals.
